Democracy is the act of giving the governed a voice in governance. Simply put, it is the people choosing who will represent them on issues that affect their daily lives using the power of their vote. Our democracy has been under attack, from the assault on Washington on January 6th to the continued changes to voting in thinly vailed attempts to change the rules for voting to restrict who gets to cast a vote. We should be finding ways to increase the number of people who vote, not shrink it because every person in America has something to gain from their government working for them. Democracies require voter participation and when people are shut out of the process, we no longer have a democracy, and we give rise to autocracies, plutocracies, and oligarchies. The people of the United States have had enough of the separation as we are at our greatest strength when we are ONE NATION. Join me as we become the more perfect union the framers intended. Democracies die when not nurtured and our best days are truly ahead.
